In Spring of 2021, as Dorrie had just started the next chapter in her life, PA school, she was told by her best friend, Pietra, that her cousin had just moved back to Massachusetts from DC. A plan was set in place: invite Jack over to their apartment so that Dorrie could meet him in person…and the rest is history!

Two years later, Dorrie and Jack took the next step and moved into a Somerville apartment together. Despite living on the top floor of a multi-family with no yard, they decided to make the best possible addition to their lives: adopting Winston, a yellow Lab who quickly became their best friend.

Eventually, they decided to give Winston what he wanted most—a home near the ocean in Weymouth to live out his swimming dreams. Though their first year as homeowners involved endless hours of Jack knocking down walls and Dorrie painting every wall in the house, they lovingly transformed the house into a home.

On December 12, 2025, Jack proposed to Dorrie on the beaches of Wells, Maine—a special place both had visited growing up—and they spent the weekend celebrating with close family and friends. Now, they can’t wait to begin their next chapter of their life surrounded by the people they love most!
